1975 Norton Commando 850 electric start roadster

5400 Original Miles, Untouched, Every Nut and Bolt Original, Original Tires, Original Paint

This in 75 Norton Commando Electric Start 850 Roadster is an 5,400 original mile, original paint, original tire bike, with what appears to be every single original nut, bolt and sticker untouched from the factory. The bike is an absolutely gorgeous survivor and probably one of the most well preserved bikes I’ve ever seen. I've sold 12 commandos in the last year and a half and this is by far the most original and well preserved with many small details I've never seen before.

The original Ghost Motorcycles and “Made in England by Norton Triumph” sticker are still in perfect, NOS condition. The Norton/Triumph oil sticker under the seat still looks brand new. Bike still has the original Norton Triumph stickers on the outside of each muffler. Original looking red dust caps remain on the brake bleeds. Original keys on original leather keychain.

The tires are the originals “Dunlop TT100, Made in England” with the date code of the 11th month of 1975. They do not even show the excessive dry rot you would expect, which is a testament to the lack of temperature fluctuation in the climate in which it was stored.

The oil was changed a few weeks ago and the oil filter that came out was still the original Norton/Andover filter (comes with bike.)

The bike was stored in a garage in Long Island for most of its life. The previous owner purchased the bike in 2009, put some race gas in it, as well as a fresh battery, a carb clean, and oil change and rode the bike for 200 miles. He bought it with 5200 miles. He rode it to the British Iron Association 23rd Annual Brit-Jam and took home first place in the Ridden category.

I have a written statement from the previous owner attesting to the bike’s originality and provenance.

The bike is in outstanding preservation class condition with gorgeous paint with just a few small imperfections on the top of the tank, pictured. The chrome, stainless, and frame paint are absolutely gorgeous. This bike could pass for a restored show bike, but it’s original.

All the electrics function properly, horn works, signals work, lights work, etc.

The bike starts up (after a tickle and some throttle twists) with the push of the button.

It would be hard to finder a nicer, lower mileage original paint Commando with so many correct original details (stickers, etc) that often get worn off over time. This is a bike that has been virtually untouched since day one.
