1975 Norton Commando 850 Electric Start
Flawless Original Paint, Runs and Rides Extremely Well, Rare Manx Colors
This 1975 Norton Commando Electric Start is an extraordinary example, a true preservation-class quality bike. It has traveled just over 10,500 miles and has matching numbers.
My customer bought it from the 2nd owner in 2003. From what he was told, this bike is 100% original from new, including the perfect original Manx paint scheme, which was only offered on the very last of the 1975 Commandos.
No dings, dents or scratches. Truly stunning paint that could accurately be described as flawless. I don’t usually like to use that word, but this bike warrants it. Chrome and other details are also perfect, no pitting, no scratches. Seat is original and perfect. All electrics function properly.
My customer did not put many miles on the bike as it was kept in the Catskills within his collection of 11 other classic bikes. He was a fanatic about maintenance and originality with all of his bikes.
It was recently serviced and had the following work done to it:
- New Battery
- Carb Clean
- New Horn
- Isolastics recently adjusted
- Front brakes rebuilt
- Newly installed original OEM engine starter. Starts perfectly.
- Fresh service with new fluids
We are also going to fit new tires before it is sold. Runs and rides spectacularly, fires eagerly on the push of the button. This bike represents the end of one of the most prized examples of this chapter in Norton’s history. Original toolkit included.
Bike is sold with a clean and clear NY title and will be properly transferred through my licensed NY state dealership.
