1974 Norton Commando 850

Excellent Bike with over $2000 in recent Maintenance and Upgrades by Norton Commando Specialist

I recently purchased this 74 Commando 850 from a Norton enthusiast who was selling the bike to buy a barn-find Vincent project.

In his care, he spent over $2000 in documented maintenance and upgrades (done in 2012) by The Classic Bike Experience in Essex, VT, well known Norton and Britbike specialists. The following work was completed, and the invoice is in the photos section below.

New factory wiring harness

Rebuilt master cylinder

Boyer electronic ignition

New coil

New tires, 2k miles on them now

Converted to single Mikuni carb

New oil lines

Isolastics redone

Fork seals redone

Fork oil and engine oil changed

New clutch cable

Upgraded with an additional disc in the clutch for an easier Pull

New petcocks

New tires

Adjust valves and timing

New kickstarter and gearchange lever

Steel tank, sealed inside for protection against modern ethanol gas, painted nicely a few years ago

The bike wears what we are told is a Norton Pro Fairing that has been cut down. We recently had a new windscreen made for it by Gustaffson Plastics.

This is an excellent riding bike, the single Mikuni makes for super crisp acceleration and stays in tune well. The bike sounds incredible and goes like a stabbed rat.

The bike, as with all my bikes, has a clean and clear title transferred properly through my dealership.
