1973 BMW R75/5 LWB Toaster Tank
Beautiful and Clean Long Wheelbase Example, Documented Refresh by BMW Expert
We bought this Monza Blue metallic from an enthusiastic owner in Maine who had owned the bike for the last 11 years, maintained it regularly and ridden it quite a bit. He had bought the bike from a teacher in Portland who had owned the bike for a long time but was moving overseas.
When he first bought the bike he had it completely gone through by a meticulous BMW expert in Eddington, Maine. He took the whole winter and went through everything and did anything the bike needed mechanically and ensured it was in top running condition. We only have partial receipts for the work, but the receipts show the following:
New clutch cable
New valve cover gasket
Oil change
Trans oil change
Rear gear oil change
Fork oil change
Grease all fittings
Replace neck bearings
New battery
Replaced final drive seal
The bike has also been repainted in the original Monza Blue color, has a new battery, and has a nice set of tires on it. The bike is clean overall, but it does have a few faults. On the top of the gas tank, there are a few small stains pictured. It has a few chips here and there (one on the left hand side of the tank near the bottom, another on the front fender.) The tachometer and speedometer needles have been replaced and the lettering on the odometer have some wear. There is a ding in the left rear shock housing.
The bike runs and rides extremely well, the only quip being a slight whine that can be heard in first and second gear.
This bike is clean rider that is ready to be enjoyed.
The bike comes with its original tools in great condition and its original owner’s manual.
