1959 Triumph Tiger T100

Concours-Quality Bike Restored by Triumph Expert, Matching Numbers, Outstanding to Ride

This 1959 Tiger T100 was comprehensively restored from the ground up by Ohio pre-unit Triumph expert George Rudisill. We've had another bike of his (the shell blue 55 Tiger T100 on the site) and are impressed with his work. He has been riding and working on Triumphs for 30 years, specializing in pre-units.

The engine was gone through and fitted with slipper pistons and bored .020 over. The top end was fitted with new valves and guides, the tank was cleaned, the bike got new rims and tires, new cables, the odometer was redone, a new seat was sourced from Leighton in England, and the mag was done by Doug Wood. The frame and bodywork on the bike were professionally and correctly painted. The suspension was gone through and fitted with new bushings and new oil.

Since the restoration, the bike has been ridden just a few hundred shakedown miles for tuning. The bike starts easily on one kick and is the best running and riding pre-unit we've had (we sold 4 this year.) The charging system works and all the lights and horn operate properly. Power comes on smooth and strong and the controls are excellent. Cosmetically the bike is exceptional, the few pictured touchups being the only imperfections.  The close fin alloy 500 motor is considered by many to be the smoothest and best motor Triumph made. '59 was the final year for that motor. It doesn't even leak oil! Starts on 1 kick easily, see video where I put my hand on the cylinders and exhaust to show a cold startup on one kick.
