1973 Honda cl350 cafe racer

Ground-Up Restoration, Thousands in Trick Parts, Fully Sorted Out

This 1973 Honda CL350 Cafe Racer is what I consider to be the ultimate CB350 street build. It has been fully rebuilt, restored and upgraded over a period of 6 months by an extremely knowledgeable Honda enthusiast and mechanic. The restoration was done from the frame up- the bike was fully disassembled and every part blasted to bare metal, cleaned and repainted. The bike has new and rebuilt everything.

Since the restoration, the bike has been ridden 2500 miles and the time was taken to sort out all the kinks, tune the carbs, and break in the engine properly.

Here is a breakdown of the work completed:

-Motor completely torn down, cases split, everything thoroughly cleaned and inspected.
-All new gaskets and seals
-Crank balanced
-New Wiseco Pistons, 66mm (2mm over) fresh bore and hone of cylinders.
-KA Slipper Cam Chain Tensioner, replaces and upgrades stock "rubber wheel" tensioner
-New high strength single piece cam chain
-"Rick's power sports" Hot Shot stator and reg/rect, high output.

-Highly sought after "Hooker Headers" 2 into 1 exhaust from the 70s. With new Muffler.
-"Old School Speed" Rear set controls with folding foot pegs
-Wheels rebuilt, stock hubs laced to wider and lighter, aluminum shouldered rims With Buchanan stainless steel spokes. All balls racing wheel bearings and new shoes.
-Hagon Shocks
-Avon Roadrider tires.
-All Balls Racing tapered roller bearings on steering stem
-All new custom wiring harness.
-H4 Halogen headlight, mini LED turn signals, 2.5in LED guages, LED tail/brake light.
-Tarozzi fully adjustable clip ons, OURY grips
-All new cables, controls and levers
-Fiberglass seat pan by "Airtech Streamlining"
-New paint job on tank "intense blue pearl" with 'gas proof' 2K enamel clear coat (6 coats) inside is lined and new petcock.

It runs really really well, starts 1st or 2nd kick. The bike has excellent power, smooth shifting, excellent clutch action, and outstanding handling.

I raced my CB350 in AHRMA all season in Sportsman 350 and 500 (finished 2nd overall in both) and think of this bike as a roadgoing counterpart. These 350s have a major tuning community and are capable of huge power numbers and are extremely reliable. My CB350 ran at over 130mph on the banking at Daytona this year and took down my friend’s Triumph 500 at Road America on the 1.2 mile straight. Hard to have more fun on a vintage bike than this.
